Cassia Crescent

The Old Airport estate has been an enclave of cafes recently.. random decision to visit Cassia Crescent! My family and I use to live in Dakota Crescent so it was a nostalgic experience to visit this quiet estate. We had the time to visit two cafes, The Hideout and Maple & Market.

The Hideout

The Hideout is an ice cream parlour.. they are popular for their buttermilk waffles and etc but I was saving my stomach for Maple & Market's waffles so I only focused on the ice cream (and pizza).

Dark chocolate gelato was thick and SO GOOD, can fight with our favourite Latte e Miele artisan gelato located at Turf City. Ground beef, mushroom and feta cheese pizza! Simple and yummy : )

haha my cuties!

Maple & Market

listed as one of the top 20 cafes in Singapore, it is one of the prettiest bakeries I've seen but it's super tiny! There were 6 of us and we were lucky enough to get the big table. The whole cafe can literally only fit 10 people?

we ordered two of their signature cakes - blossom cake and gula melaka cake. The blossom cake consist of raspberry, rose and pistachio. I like this a lot, the cake was very soft and the mix of raspberry and cream cheese for the frosting was excellent. The gula melaka cake on the other hand was a bit too sweet for my liking although I like the contrast of the coconut shavings and almond flakes. And the highlight of the visit, caramelised banana waffles... an immediate head-turner. I couldn't resist it's delicious aroma. Waffle texture was crispy and the caramel sauce cooked together with the slices of banana brought out the sweetness while the walnuts ended every bite with nutty satisfaction! The earl grey lavender tea went great with the sweet food we ordered :>
