Cold brew - CSHH & Old Hen

Old Hen Coffee Bar

Old Hen has become one of my weekly hangs more recently! Situated along Rangoon Road, it is super popular for their signature cold brew. I love it super super super much, it's very creamy and milky. It's a good try even for non-coffee lovers. We were feeling hungry that day too so we gave their croque monsieur a try - honey baked ham, béchamel and cheese! Can't get any better that this?? Even the side salad was good.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware

This place needs no further introduction, one of the pioneers of the cafe scene in Singapore. We ordered the cold brew coffee, this time it's black coffee and it's too bitter for my liking. Add some sugar syrup and milk for better taste! oh but the truffle popcorn I tell you.. to die for. Lightly salted with the substantial hint of truffle oil, mm.

Perfect noons

Whisk

Clean cut, spacious and a very natural cafe. I just booked for Paris this week and this cafe just gives me an impression of how all Parisian cafes should look like! We had a nice smooth latte along with a very tasty orange earl-grey scone.

Sarnies

A very random "I'm craving for Sarnies sandwich" on a Sunday afternoon and off we went. ugh just thinking about this now makes me hungry... my kind of mess - coffee, a sandwich of fried eggs and a ton of in-house cured bacon. THEIR BACON IS PERFECTION. Don't kill me but i'm not a huge fan of bacon and this is the only exception!!!

PARK

Anything that is truffle is amazing so this is a double whammy for me.. truffle fries and truffled mac and cheese #enoughsaid

Happy weekend x

Johor visuals

Yay! Celebrated the end of our exams and project submissions with a mini adventure to JB with my group mates ~ enjoy the visual vomit!

Chicken chop at IT Roo!

Drinks at my favourite - Bev C!

Smoothest coffee at Faculty of Caffeine!

New: The Ice Cream Project

Happen to come across their Instagram page and I realise that they're located just right opposite IT Roo?! It's simply liquid nitrogen ice cream. I ordered their Brownie & Cream which is brownies chocolate cake mixed with original cream! There wasn't much to choose from and this was so simple yet so good. Though slightly to the pricey side - 14.90 RM / $5.50 but it's worth every penny!

clearly we all enjoyed our ice cream :>

^_^ it was such a great day! Jethro even went for a haircut at a cool barber and we all had dinner at Kim Gary at night! Happy two weeks holiday though i'm working my ass off as a slave...

Brawn & Brains / Changi Beach

yay late brunch with Bernard and Darlene on a lazy Saturday afternoon at Brawn and Brains! This tiny cafe is tucked away at the old badminton hall in Guillemard road. We ordered the earl grey pistachio croissant (cause mains was 30 mins wait and we were starving), chicken mushroom wrap, salmon wrap and the beef pastrami sandwich. My favourite was the crossaint and chicken mushroom... major yums and worth the wait.

Met dad and headed to Changi Aloha to attend my cousin's 21st. We were too early so we went to explore the beach!! / Follow me on snapchat - vevienong :>

The entire time my dad was like "stand in front of me to cover my tummy!!!" hahaha and the sunset was so pretty!!

After School Adventures #3

It's back to school for Bernard and I since two weeks ago ~~ Almost every once a week after school, we'd take a break and go chill at some cafe.. Here's two that we visited over the past two weeks and also a slight continuation from my #afterschooladventures blog posts : )

Strangers Reunion (revisited)

We are definitely no stranger to this cafe having visited this place more than we should (their service seriously sux) but this time when we went, it was a whole different customer service experience. The carpark I usually park at (directly opposite) was closed and it was raining cats and dogs so we had to park rlly far and share an umbrella with our shoes all soaked... not a good start but I love how they made sure we were dry and etc before starting our meal. The girl serving us was super duber nice!!

I'm not a huge salmon fan but every time I visit Stranger's, I have to eat their house smoked salmon eggs benedict. Yes, it sounds like another typical cafe food dish but this one comes with feta cheese, walnut crumble, salad and sultana bread. They also don't have the unconventional hollandaise sauce and that's what makes this dish so super special - it's actually crafted hazelnut béarnaise!

Béarnaise sauce: Béarnaise sauce is a sauce made of clarified butter emulsified in egg yolks and white wine vinegar and flavored with herbs.

ok truth be told lar, I came here for the sole purpose of trying their berry ricotta hotcakes that all the pops bloggers are raving about and i'm so damm sad to say that IT SUCKS. I don't know why all the reviews are like "it's so good! you have to try it!!". It literally tasted like cake mixed topped off with beautiful berries, seeds and vanilla ice cream ~.~

One Man Coffee

I've heard so much about One Man, walked passed way too many times but finally decided to give it a try! I have to say their ham & cheese croissant and coffee did not disappoint. The atmosphere was chilled and laid back, literally my ideal definition of a perfect noon ^_^

Happy mid week!! eh no it's Thursday already, yasssss one day closer to Friday!!
