Bangkok 2016 Part 4 - Rocket Coffee Bar S49

Rocket Coffeebar is a stylish Scandinavian inspired cafe at S49!

The interior

Think large open windows with lots of natural light and clean wooden furnitures. This cafe definitely came off as a comfortable and cosy space. I think the highlight of this cafe is their gorgeous copper hanging lights, making it every instagrammer's dream cafe!!

Food and Drinks

Coffee is obviously the star of this cafe as Rocket is known for producing artisanal coffee from small batches of beans. I couldn't resist the hot cocoa as often seen on Instagram and my confession is that the whip cream was the bomb lul. Food wise everything was relatively average tasting. Apparently their desserts are the best but it was a pity we were too full!

Throwback to when Bernard had hair. Finally Friday tomorrow x

Bangkok 2016 Part 2 - Casa Lapin

Finally visited this hipster haunt - Casa Lapin! I try to make it a point to visit new cafes in Bangkok every time I make a trip there. Casa Lapin is one joint that I've really wanted to try and since we had some time to kill, we decided to pop by to the nearest outlet for tea break before dinner!

The place was just as I thought - cosy, casual and industrialised-looking. All in all, I loved the atmosphere! Apart from the fact that it was super crowded when we arrived and we had to wait a while to get seats, it was one of those nice cafes to chill or do your work in with free wifi :>

Their coffee, iced tea and cheesecake was great as well!

May your Monday be short and your coffee be strong. Have a great week ahead everyone!

Hong Kong 2016 Day 2 (Part I - Café Deadend)

Day 2 began with us travelling to Sheung Wan to eat at a cafe! That area is filled with quirky shops, tea houses and cafes, really love it. The cafe I chose to visit was Café Deadend and it was literally.. at a dead end. We got lost halfway:

I felt so bad making everyone walk up and those so many flights of steps and I started to get scared that we wouldn't be able to find the cafe!!

Nonetheless, we managed to find it but there weren't any seats available because the cafe was so tiny zzz

Really did not mind some brunch because I'm not the kind that can eat chinese food everydayyyy!
The food was uneggspectedly good and it was eggsactly how I'd like to start my day ^_^

WAIT FOR IT:

yasssss......

More of day 2 in a separate post, way too many (food) pictures. Heading off to Taiwan on Sunday, feel free to hit me up with nice places to visit please!! x

Tiramisu Hero

Tiramisu Hero! Bernard and I find ourselves at the Jalan Besar area almost every weekend and Tiramisu Hero is just one of those cafes that we've always passed by but never stepped in. Just so happen that there was a parking lot right outside the cafe so we decided to finally pay this whimsical looking place a visit ~ I'm not a huge fan of tiramisu so I find the speculoos flavoured tiramisu average. Coffee was pleasant! Seating wise was a little uncomfortable because I was on a bench.. one of the reasons why we didn't stay too long. Overall though, love this cafe's concept!

The Laneway Market

Exploring Tanjong Katong was very exciting because it felt like home. I use to be an east-sider, well at least for 10 years! I've heard a ton about The Laneway Market so Bernard and I decided to pop by randomly before work since we were driving that day.

I was swooning over their interior and decor.. it's super on point, I love it!

They recently changed their menu so we gave the new items a try and I have to say that it's super amazing. We ordered the Farmer's platter which has consist of meat like ham and sausages but the winner was the chilli cheese beef by the side, SO GOOD.. as well as the Sous Vide Eggs - 64 degrees slow-cooked eggs with random stuff like hash brown and lobster bits. Their cold brew wasn't too bad either but i'd prefer the one at Old Hen!

Good food, free parking and the loveliest interior, this is definitely a place worth coming back for!
