6 Fingers Hair Studio

"Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change"

wew, loving my copper tresses by 6 Fingers Hair Studio! The owner Edwin Tan specially mixed the dye and did my treatment for me, my hair feels so alive right now. Yes, some has been saying "you're finally normal" like what are you talking about.. I am normal!? But well, no more ugly roots, faded brownish-gold and blue/green dye.

Change is good for me!

Project Açai

Project Açai!! Singapore's first dedicated açai cafe.. my life is complete hehe! I've been going crazy over superfood ever since my diet and stumbling upon jumba juice in Korea.. This bowl makes me so happy because it keeps me so full and it's guilt-free. I know most of you have been asking me to do a blog post on my diet (which I will start on after my exams!) but Project Açai is one of the places you can visit for a "meal replacement"! I love fruits so this is like heaven to me :>

ah.. miss the carefree holidays where there was just my 10 am to 4 pm job. Seriously considering taking a one year break after completing my diploma to work, breathe and travel.

On a side note, Bernard and I are travelling to London, Paris, Brighton and maybe Bath in September! It'd be nice if you guys can leave some suggestions on places to visit, eat, do and even stay (Airbnb apartments or reasonably priced hotels!) on my ask.fm/vevienong : )

Have a great start to the week everyone x

Chinese New Year Day 1

Yes.. how weird right, Day 1 of CNY and my family decides to dine at a cafe.

We decided to have dinner at the artisanal cafe - Penny University because 1) it's located right behind my gramps place 2) we're sick of Chinese food 3) majority of the places were closed on the first day of the new year.

Coffee was good of course, super fragrant and strong. I loved the peppermint chocolate that Darlene ordered! Food wise was a miss though, the greek yogurt with poached egg is unique and their pesto pasta tasted slightly above average. Those two are my favourite out of all : )

Outfit on New Year's! Ok I need to share my story about this Topshop dress.. don't be too jealous after reading, heh. I saw this dress over a year ago in Topshop with a price tag of $139. I was so tempted to buy it but smth in my heart tells me no so I didn't... and then two weeks before CNY, Bernard and I were taking a stroll at Vivo City when we chanced upon this "warehouse" shop that had  some sport stuff he wanted to check out. While walking around, I saw this whole rack of clothes that had a flimsy banner reading "TOPSHOP" and then on the rack was this dress. Literally I was like "EHHHH!" and I checked the price board. It says "Dresses - $25". HOLY MACARONI! Best of all, it was the only piece available on the rack coincidentally IN MY SIZE whutttttt.

End of story, have a great week ahead everyone.

Happy 50 months!

YAY! Heard of so many raves about SONS Bacaro (especially their super cheap and affordable lunch set) so after months of lusting after pictures on Instagram and blogs, we finally made a trip down (using our 50th monthsary as an excuse to travel all the way, pay ERP and search high and low for parking in CBD area ugh) to try just how good their mains are.

Our lunch situation was almost perfectly seriously?! The setting of this place was chic as expected but far more beautiful up close than in pictures.

So everything was great until the food came.. I didn't order from the lunch set menu as I wanted to try their Crab & Nduja pasta but look at the portion!! It was so tiny compared to Bernard's beef stew :-( Of course it did fill me and it was delicious but why am I so disappointed (sobs). I finished it in 3 mins.

But of course, all was made better when B suggested "let's go to town and have llao llao before studying" OKKKK YAYYYY! Somebody asked me on ask.fm "What makes you happy?" I replied with the pic above and said I can't rlly decide muahaha. Yes, llao llao is over rated but there is no denying that it's so damm good.

Went to study and then had dinner at Real food. Organic food. Yes, so not us and it wasn't that good.

but my day was great! and honestly, the past month has been the best and things have been getting so much better for the two of us.

Happy 50th monthsary to the one and only. This is so cringeworthy but thank you for loving me all these years. You've seen me at my worst, you know what a mess I can be, how hard things can get and still love me even when I least deserve it. Thank you for making me laugh when I'd almost forgotten how to and being there at every step of the way. You make me the happiest and I just want you to know that I appreciate you tons. Love you Bernard x

Boufé Boutique Cafe

Found this new boutique cafe while scrolling through Instagram the other day! It's tucked away in Phoenix Park which is a 5 mins drive away from Bernard's house so we had to go have our weekly brunch here! I love the minimalistic white and black interior, reminds me of Parcamara (which I will blog abt another day, all pics taken with my iPhone displeases me haha).

We had our usual Eggs Benedict and their homemade baguette with truffled mushrooms accompanied with my slightly tasteless iced chamomile mint tea. The Eggs Benedict's hollandaise sauce is really rich and much better than most of the other cafes. The brioche along with it is light and fluffy! Not to mention the generous amount of eggs and ham. I especially love their truffle baked baguette because it's not the typical thing on the brunch menu. I'm a huge mushroom fan so I really like the ragout topped off with the egg.. all the right ingredients for a perfect dish.

Boufé definitely did not disappoint. Although it is more accessible with a car, it's worth the hassle! I'd definitely be back (even though their brunch menu only has 6 items) because this place is so chill and serene.

Signing off with yet another picture of me cause Bernard is more excited about my new camera than I am, the entire time he was like "eh let me take" / "you want take ootd? I take for you." HAHAHA! Also, I apologise for my unannounced two weeks hiatus. I'm currently in the midst of exam preparations because exams will take place in a week >_< so pardon me for the lack of updates! Till the 5th of Feb, ciao ~
