Chinese New Year Day 4

Finally, down to one of the last few posts on CNY.. (I think i'm left with one more and i'm done)! Met Joan on day 4 to drink tea and unwind from all the festivity vibes. 

Went over to Nat's house for our annual New Year's gathering. This year it was just in time to celebrate Uncle Michael and Auntie Shirley's birthday too!! 

Happy b'day!! Missing Bryan this year because he's off to Newcastle to further his studies :-( Can't wait for him to return next week x 

felt like my 100th lou hei seriously........... 

Missing my boyfriend too cause he was away for the New year.. sobs but always glad to catch up with this childhood bunch! 

Chinese New Year Day 3

Literally just blogged yesterday but going to blog again today because lovely Joan is bored in Maldives and would like to read my blog while swimming on the beach, what a great life while I cringe in the office. 

So over the Chinese New Year weekend, a few of them from the clique came over to my place for our yearly steamboat routine!! It was filled with endless chatter, a ton of beer, rosé and food. Shiok!

After which we took the buggy out for a ride.. brought them to explore the different islands in Sentosa cove. Hashtag: Teach me how to buggy, transport goals, life at stake. 

This is the real deal - life at stake lmao!! Here you see my crazy friends, risking their lives for a good Instagram shot. My palms were literally sweaty just watching them take this picture, cray!

7/12 present - 

These people are one of the best things that's ever happened to me. There are so many times in my life where i'm overwhelmed with all the good to a point where I feel like I never deserve any of it. Despite all the downfalls, the bad, the ugly and the whirlwind of emotions we had to go through, I'm glad to say that I am so blessed that we started anew. As we all start to grow up and grow old, and even though things are still going to change drastically, I'd nvr trade this friendship for the world. 

Chinese New Year Day 2

Pardon my messy space, jumbling all the CNY posts up! Day 2 of Chinese new year is always special because it's when the Ong family has our reunion lunch. This year was extra special because we had it by the pool instead!! 

ok perhaps what was "special" is the leaves that fell into our food.. omg. I thank God for good weather when eating outdoors but it was so windy and the leaves kept falling!!

I feel so pumped this week.. Celebrated Bernard's birthday over the weekend and this week just excites me so much although it's already back to work today hahaha! Reunion Dinner

Reunion dinner is my favourite part of Chinese New year. It's a super rowdy affair at the Tay's residence (my mum's side), a night filled with delicious food prepared by my grandmother, a ton of drinks and laughter. 

I cherish dinners like these, to be able to gather with my entire fam bam is so much fun and best of all.. the home cooked food. This year though, we didn't have our signature tom yum soup in our steamboat because my grand ma was too busy *SOBS* we tried buying the instant kind and it wasn't even anything near good ARGH ! ! ! 

The atmosphere of this place has certainly changed a lot over the past three years.. the amount of grand children my gramps have grew from 3 (my sisters and I) to 8!! And of course now it's also so much harder to take a proper family photo.. one kid would either be crying or trying to run away so we would take like 20 shots and I honestly have no idea which is the best so yeah.. I uploaded randomly. All of my little cousins are so cute yet naughty but more importantly, they bring so much joy and laughter into my life!!
