If you have been to Mandarin Gallery lately, it's hard to miss the latest new cafe - The Providore! I was being very enthusiastic about going for a meal there because this cafe is conceptualised by the guys behind Jones The Grocer.
(I don't have a picture but) I love the simple, modern and timeless look of this gourmet cafe! The bright spacious space radiates a welcoming vibe, a soothingly perfect setting to just chill and relax.
The deep berry fruit smoothie was refreshing and delicious!
A must order at Providore - Lobster Mac & Cheese with Shaved Fennel & Dill. They were very generous with the lobsters and I loved how the cast iron pan kept the dish warm the entire time!
Spatchcock chicken - The chicken was tenderly roasted and had a very sweet yet tangy flavour. However we had to deal with the bones which were seemingly all over the place…
It was overall a great meal but definitely not one of the hipster cafes that serve pretentious food and great coffee that entices us teenagers. The cost of the bill is also too expensive for a place you can visit on a day to day basis. The drinks are reasonable though so there is no harm just coming for tea or smth…. :-)
