Introducing one of the most humble yet cozy French bistro known to all as La Petite Cuisine located at Serene Centre! French cuisine has a reputation for being overpriced and expensive but if you ever dine at La Petite, you will rarely find any dish above $20!
I first visited this casual eatery with my mum years back when I was still studying in St Margaret's. Back then I ordered the boring crab meat pasta (which was really good btw) but after frequently patronising with Amber and Bernard.. I explored more food options and La Petite eventually became one of my favourite eateries around Farrer road / Cluny area!
With the new circle line, this place is actually pretty accessible now compared to 5 years ago. Alight at Botanical Gardens and Serene centre is just a few minutes walk away…

BREAD!!! HOT PIPPING YUMMY BREAD IS ALWAYS A GOOD START!!
A few things you MUST order when you are at La Petite Cuisine!!
1) Duck confit - The winning dish of this bistro and in my opinion, the best duck confit in Singapore. The skin is roasted to crisp and beneath it is a thin layer of duck fat which melts in your mouth. It goes fantastic with the buttery and fragrant potato gratin!
2) Sirlon steak - lean cut with little fat, it surely will not disappoint!
3) Ravioli of Prawns Foie Gras in light lemon creme - The sauce is very nice and comes along with generous ingredients within the ravioli. Works well as a starter!
The only bad thing about this place is that it has pretty much zero ambience. However you don't pay GST or service charge so I guess that's fair… opt to sit indoors if you don't like the sun (me!!!) but if you like Al Fresco dining… you can dine outside by the corridor.. which we did because it was so packed during dinner time :-(
Good food with good friends, what can be better? :-)
Happy mid week all x
