Day 12 of 21 - Brussels

Arrived in Brussels and checked into our beautiful Airbnb! Only $54/night and our Airbnb host Shaerin was the biggest sweetheart, link here: https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/3367169

Off we went to explore the city! We only had one day in Brussels so we went straight to the famous Grand Place for lunch. On this trip, TripAdvisor was our saviour for good eats and this sandwich shop called Tonton Garby was #1!

Upon arriving, we had to wait a while because Tonton was still setting up the place but he was beyond welcoming and eager to make sure that we were happy with our experience. This place is an absolute gem - it was the most wonderful little cheese shop and the shop owner Tonton was so hospitable and full of warmth. He recommended me a sandwich based on my liking so I had the goat cheese with pistachio, apples and honey. Bernard got the one with spicy cheese, salami and tomatoes. BEYOND PERFECT!

Off we went to explore the highlights of Brussels!

The most beautiful square in Europe, the Grand Place was majestic and stunning. It was a pity the upcoming music festival set up blocked the view but no doubt I was in loveeee ~ but not with stupid photo bombers:

Brussels isn't just the capital of Europe, but it's chocolate capital of the world. It was chocolate heaven everywhere we went omg!! Don't drool while looking at these images:

Basically Brussels was exactly what I imagined it to be - the land of chocolate, waffles and fries. Chocolates and pralines for every taste, in every shape and size. Waffles were priced starting from 1 euro, insane.

I was most excited for Godiva's chocolate covered strawberries. It was way overpriced but when you're overseas I don't think it really matters. We had the hardest time trying to finish it all haha!

Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert! We came here for more chocolate hunting because it was so touristic and had the most gorgeous architect.

kayz I have way too many pics of myself because Bernard was behind the camera...

Visited the Sainte-Catherine Catherdral while on the way to dinner! Rugbyman Two was recommended by a random hotel concierge, seafood was apparently a very popular choice in Brussels. This place had everything we wanted - Mussels, Belgium fries and a bonus of lobster!!

It was the most perfect dinner. Alfresco dining in the cold while overlooking the cathedral. Dinner was really expensive but of good value. Without a doubt everything tasted so great hehe : )

Ended the night with belgium waffles, so yumssss!

Next post - Manchester!
