Perth 2017 - Day 3

Day 3 of Perth was the start of our road trip. We had Dim Sum for breakfast at 8 On The Point, a nice Chinese restaurant overlooking the river. Yes, only the third day and we were already craving Chinese food!

We then set off to Margaret River.

Stopped by Busselton Jetty to explore!

The wooden pier is the longest in the world, stretching 2 km out of sea! We took the jetty train all the way to the end of the pier, which was a really nice way to enjoy the Busselton jetty. The skies were terribly gloomy and it briefly rained on our train journey but thankfully, the train had a transparent cover up option which saved us because it was way too cold!

Our lunch break was at The Goose - a nice bistro overlooking the jetty. Nothing much to rave about this place as out of all the food options available at Busselton, this place just seems the most ideal.

Drove to our accommodation at Margaret River after another hour's drive, chilled at the apartment before heading out for dinner at a random Thai restaurant nearby! That was pretty much all we did for the day. More on Margaret River in the next post!

Perth 2017 - Day 2

We started our second day in Perth bright and early with breakfast at The Tuck Shop Cafe located at Northbridge. Dubbed as one of the best cafes in Perth, I was stoked to patronise this place!

We ordered their signature bruschetta which had bacon, avocado, tomato and goat cheese on flat bread which did not disappoint. The rest of the dishes like the smoke cod baked with potatoes & leek and the chorizo.. they were just average. I had higher expectations of this place because 1) cafes in Australia are suppose to be major bomb 2) the cafe TBSP we had the day before was amazing and 3) Tuck Shop is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for cafes in Perth. Well, my vegan sister did enjoy her vegan pie very much so that's great I guess!

Next, we stopped by the blue boat house for a mandatory picture. Cringe, I know.. but it's only obligatory right?! HAHA. Like everyone says, this house is indeed quite underwhelming:

It's literally a house on water in the middle of nowhere. The worst part is that there was a legit queue to take pictures, didn't help that it was a Saturday. I'm guessing if you go on a weekday it'd be better!

The blue boat house sits on Swan River just below King's Park! We took the chance to visit the popular park after our picture taking -

wew, King's Park had a spectacular view of the city and thankfully, the weather was beyond perfect. I'd definitely come back again for a picnic or at night time to see the city skyline when it's dark.

Next, we visited Cottesloe Beach - a popular spot in Perth to take a swim, snorkel and surf.

How picturesque is this beach?! I felt like i was living in a postcard or something.

The entire beach was pretty quiet and it was as though we had the whole beach to ourselves.
The sea was cold but we loved the view and ocean breeze.

We then set off to Fremantle Market!!

I loved the market as there was so much to see and eat! Going on a weekend definitely gave it plenty of atmosphere. My favourite part about the market is this honey cake that we tried:

It's soooo divine!! Can't believe we only bought one slice, i'm going back the next time to buy one whole box for sure. I love it! Makes me want to try twelve cupcake's honey cake since I heard it was inspired by the one from Fremantle market ^_^

After exploring the market, we drove to the fishing boat harbour nearby for the renowned Cicerello's fish & chips!

Way too many pictures of me in this blog post, I know. HAHA. Anyway, we ordered the fish & chips along with a seafood platter which had fish, shrimp, calamari and a ton of fries. Food was definitely fresh but I really don't understand what's the hype? Eating here was kind of over rated and definitely didn't wow me, especially with the amount of crazy seagulls but I guess the harbour view makes up for it perfectly, heh.

We ended our journey to Freo with beer at Little Creatures (*&DFGH$#@#$%^&HBhjsdfhj*WU#I

YUP, I WAS SUPER EXCITED. IT WAS LIKE VISITING PERTH'S LITTLE ICON.

The brewery and restaurant is huge! The vibes were great and so was their beer - especially the pale ale. Oh cries, I'd love a pint right now. I was squealing the entire time at Little Creatures, didn't even have time to take pictures of my beer hah.

Walked over to the ferris wheel to take more pictures and oh look guys, example number 2 of my fam's bad photo taking skills:

Not even one nice picture with the ferris wheel, lololol. Okay lar maybe picture number 2 is the most decent zzz

Had dinner with Bryan Lee at Grill'd - a burger spot in Perth. Their truffle burger was pretty decent! Loved the fries with the aioli dip! We had ice cream at Chico Gelato and took a long walk around Elizabeth Quay after.

Ended my night losing a lot of money at Crown's with Moen and we decided to drown our sorrows with his home cooked indo mee back at his place. We talked till sunrise when we had to wake up at 8 am for church the next day, pretty dead. Nonetheless, it was such a great second day in Perth!
